Our Story
In the bustling streets of Dublin, a legacy was born in 1946. From the O’Leary family’s butcher shop a passion for premium meats ignited the spark that would eventually become DMC Foods.
In 2010, Master Butcher Paddy O Leary and son David opened the first factory outlet butcher shop in Ireland and the Dublin Meat Company came into existence. They quickly became renowned great value products and a commitment to innovation without ever compromising on taste or quality.

Fit Foods Is Born
As the years have unfolded, now joined by brother Brian O Leary, the family noticed a shift in eating behaviours. Sensing the demand for quick, healthier meal options, they took a bold step forward in 2014 with the creation of Fit Foods ready meals.
Launched into mainstream retail in 2020, Fit Foods swiftly rose to prominence and is now Ireland’s Number 1 branded ready meal available in most major supermarkets and convenience stores. In 2023, Fit Foods began exporting to mainland Europe.
In recent years, Fit Foods has expanded its offerings to include gut friendly yogurts to high-protein puddings, and even a cook-at-home high protein range ensuring quick, healthier solutions for every eating occasion.

Fast forward to 2022 when significant investment in the Dublin Meat Co business by the BGF group resulted in the purchase of Swift Fine Foods by Dublin Meat Company and the founding of DMC Foods. The alignment of the values of two companies dedicated to innovation, quality and excellence has resulted in DMC Foods being Ireland’s most successful ready meal business with 1 in 5 ready meals in Ireland manufactured in the BRC AA+ certified facility.
Still proudly Irish-owned and run by the O Leary family, DMC Foods operates from a 34,000sq ft manufacturing plant on the banks of Lough Egish. DMC Foods is a corner stone of local employment with 200+ employees. With full end to end manufacturing capabilities and a best in class in-house New Product Development team, the commitment to innovation without ever compromising on taste or quality remains to this day.
